Common questions

What should I bring to my first consultation?

Your ID and any documents about the matter: letters, summonses, contracts, medical records, accident reports or charge sheets. Each practice area page has a checklist. If you don't have everything, come anyway. We can request most records for you.

How much will it cost?

It depends on the type of matter and how complex it is. After the first consultation we give you a written estimate. Road Accident Fund and medical negligence claims can often be run on a contingency basis, which means our fee is paid from what you recover.

Is there a deadline to act?

Usually, yes. Most claims prescribe after three years, and claims against the state require written notice within six months. Some Road Accident Fund claims have a two-year limit. Different rules apply to children: time limits start or are extended once they turn 18. Speak to us as soon as you can so that no time limit runs out.

Do I have to come to your office?

No. We consult in person in Pretoria, by phone or by video call. Documents can be sent by email or WhatsApp.
